How we review
Period Tracker Apps is run by the team that makes Hello Phase, the app ranked first on this list. We checked every app against its store listings, pricing, privacy label and recent reviews on 26 October 2026, without hands-on testing of each one, and we say plainly where another app is the better fit. There are no affiliate links, and our review method explains how we rank our own app.

The apps, one by one
Hello Phase
Best free cycle syncing app on Android- Free, Plus $39.99
- Android only
- No Play rating yet, 1K+ installs
- Privacy declaration
- Play "No data shared", some data collected
What stands out
- Hello Phase is our app, and it shows which phase you are in every day with a short daily read, without asking you to make an account.
- The free plan explains what is happening hormonally in each phase, next to an estimated estrogen and progesterone chart drawn from your own cycle length.
- You log moods, symptoms, flow and notes, answer three quick questions on energy, sleep and appetite as each phase starts, and see which symptoms keep landing in the same part of your cycle.
Watch out for
- It is Android only, and with 1K+ installs it has no Google Play rating yet.
- The hormone chart is drawn from your cycle length and ovulation day, so it is an estimate and never a lab reading.
Plus, at $39.99 a year, adds the food and movement sections of every phase guide and a food line in the Daily Read, and there are no workout plans or recipes. See pricing and the Hello Phase FAQ.

Find the right app for you
Does cycle syncing actually work?
The evidence for changing your workouts by phase is weak. A 2020 meta-analysis in Sports Medicine rated it as low quality, and in 2026 a randomized trial in Medicine & Science in Sports & Exercise found that phase-based strength training gave “neither hypertrophy nor strength advantages” over regular training. A 2026 study in The Journal of Physiology also found that advice built on progesterone’s effect on muscle is “not supported by direct mechanistic evidence”. A 2024 meta-analysis did call the early follicular phase “unfavorable for all strength classes”, although the newer trial found no gain from planning training around it.
Phase dates are also less exact than most apps suggest. Only 12.4% of app users in one study had a 28-day cycle, and in a 2020 study the luteal phase shifted by more than three days between cycles in 58.8% of women, so an app that works from period dates alone, Hello Phase included, can be days off.
What holds up is personal. Logging how you feel, sleep and train for a few cycles shows whether you have a pattern worth planning around, which is the “personalised approach” the 2020 meta-analysis recommended.
Which cycle syncing app is best for workouts?
For a ready-made plan, 28 is the strongest choice, though it rates better on iPhone (4.60) than on Android (3.3). Wild.AI is built for athletes, but recent login complaints make it hard to recommend right now, and FitrWoman covers training and recovery for free. Hello Phase has movement tips in Plus and no workout plans, so it suits people who want guidance more than a training program.
Which app tells you what to eat in each phase?
28 is the only app here whose listing pairs phase-based nutrition with calorie tracking, and Hello Phase Plus has a “Best foods for this phase” section in every phase guide. Since the 2026 Journal of Physiology study found no direct evidence behind progesterone-based nutrition advice, treat phase food tips as ideas to try.
Do you need to pay for cycle syncing?
No. FitrWoman is free with no in-app purchases, and Hello Phase, Wild.AI and Stardust have free plans, with the Hello Phase food and movement sections in Plus at $39.99 a year (see pricing). Paid plans here run from $18.99 to $279.99 a year, and since phase-based plans have not been shown to improve results, you are paying for convenience and content. If you start a trial, note the renewal date.
Are cycle syncing apps private?
Privacy varies a lot. On their Apple labels, Wild.AI, Lively, Harmony, Moody Month and Stardust declare some data used to track you, and 28, MyFlo and FitrWoman list health data as linked to you.
Hello Phase has no Apple label because it is not on the App Store, and its Google Play Data safety section says no data is shared with third parties while listing some data types as collected. It needs no account, cycle data stays on your phone, and its privacy policy lists what does leave it.
Apps we left out and why
Phase (phaseforwork.com) was a waitlist on 26 October 2026 and not on the US App Store. Clue and Flo are strong period trackers, but neither store description offers phase-based workout or meal plans. Hormona pairs its app with at-home urine hormone test kits, which fit our best hormone tracker apps guide better, and Musa works more like a game than a workout or meal guide.
How to choose
On Android, start with Hello Phase if you mostly want to understand your phases, or 28, Wild.AI or FitrWoman if you want the most training structure. On iPhone, every other app here is available. Before you pay, check the account, the privacy label and the renewal price after any trial.
Questions people ask
What is the best cycle syncing app in 2026?
On Android, Hello Phase is the best free cycle syncing app, with your phase each day, a guide to every phase, an estimated hormone chart and no account. 28 is the most complete for workouts and meals by phase at $79 a year, and FitrWoman is free with no in-app purchases.
Is there a free cycle syncing app?
Yes. Hello Phase is free on Android for tracking, the estimated hormone chart and the phase intro, with its food and movement guides in Plus. FitrWoman is completely free and covers training, recovery and food by phase.
Is cycle syncing backed by science?
Only weakly. A 2020 meta-analysis rated the evidence as low quality, and a 2026 randomized trial found no strength or muscle advantage from phase-based training, so researchers favor a personalised approach based on how you actually feel.
Do you need a wearable for cycle syncing?
No, but it helps. A 2019 study of more than 600,000 cycles advised tracking basal body temperature as well as cycle length, and 28 and Stardust can read temperature from an Apple Watch or Oura ring, while Hello Phase uses your logged dates only.
Do cycle syncing apps work with irregular cycles?
They can, but expect less precise phases, since only 12.4% of app users in one study had a 28-day cycle. Hello Phase shows a range of likely dates that widens when your cycles vary.
Which cycle syncing app does not need an account?
Hello Phase is the only app on this page we could confirm needs no account, and it keeps cycle data on your phone. 28 and Moody Month require one, Wild.AI reviewers describe logging in, and the other listings do not say.
Try Hello Phase
If you use Android and want a private place to log your phases, moods and symptoms, Hello Phase is free to start. See pricing and the FAQ, or our guides to the best PMDD tracker apps and best hormone tracker apps.
