Who runs this site

Period Tracker Apps is written by the small team that makes Hello Phase, a period and hormone tracker for Android. That means one of the apps on our lists is ours, so we label it as ours on every page, and we tell you plainly when another app suits you better. There are no affiliate links on this site, and no app maker pays to be listed or ranked.

How we check each app

For every app we read its US App Store and Google Play listings, its pricing page, its Apple privacy label or Google Play Data safety section, its help center and recent user reviews, and we write down the date we checked. We have not installed and tested every app, so when we describe a feature we are describing what the developer and the stores say, and when we could not confirm something we say so instead of guessing.

Privacy labels are what each developer declares to Apple or Google rather than an independent audit, so we treat them as a starting point and add any official action, such as an FTC order, with a link to the source.

How we rank

Each list is ordered by who the app suits best, and every app gets a short "best for" and an honest "watch out for", including Hello Phase. Hello Phase is on Android only, it does not rate symptom severity, and its hormone chart is an estimate from your cycle dates rather than a measurement, and we say all of that wherever it matters.

Medical information

We link medical facts to their source, such as ACOG, MedlinePlus or a published study. Nothing here is medical advice, period apps are not birth control unless they are cleared for that use, and you should talk to a clinician about symptoms that worry you.

If a price, rating or feature has changed, or you make one of these apps and see something wrong, email [email protected] and we will check it and update the page with a new date.
