The Best Period Tracker Apps of 2026
Quick answer
Hello Phase, which we make, is the best period tracker app on Android because it needs no account, keeps your log on your phone, shows no ads and gives you an estimated hormone chart plus CSV and PDF export for free. On iPhone, the built-in Cycle Tracking in Apple Health is the best free choice, and Clue is the pick if you switch between iPhone and Android.
Period Tracker Apps is run by the team that makes Hello Phase, the app we rank first. We checked each app's US store listings, prices, privacy labels and reviews on 26 October 2026 without hands-on testing, and there are no affiliate links. Read how we review.
How we picked the apps
We gave the most weight to what you get free without an account or ads, then to privacy labels, account rules and any FTC or state action, then to price, store ratings and support for both iPhone and Android. Apps with no update in 18 months were left out.

The apps
Hello Phase
- Best for
- The best overall period tracker on Android, free and private
- Price (US, checked 26 Oct 2026)
- Free for tracking. Plus is $39.99 a year or $12.99 a month on Google Play.
- Platforms
- Android. There is no iPhone version yet.
- Account
- None, with no sign up and no login
- Privacy
- Your log stays on your phone, with no ads and no third-party trackers. Google Play Data safety says no data is shared with third parties and lists some data as collected, and the optional AI coach sends a small slice, such as your question and the last seven days of moods and symptoms, only after you agree.
- Ratings
- No Google Play rating yet, 1K+ installs, updated Oct 1, 2026
What stands out. Hello Phase is our app, and it gives you a full tracker for free without asking you to sign up. The free plan covers period logging, reminders and a daily check-in for mood, symptoms, flow and notes, and it shows your next three periods as a date range that widens when your cycles vary, then tells you after each period how close it came. It also draws an estimated estrogen and progesterone chart from your own cycle, points out one pattern in your logs each cycle and lets you export your log as a CSV file or a one-page PDF summary.
Watch out for. Hello Phase runs only on Android, and it does not have a Google Play rating yet. Its hormone chart is estimated from your cycle dates, so read it as the shape of a typical cycle of your length.
Plus adds a 12-month forecast and a doctor report, as the Hello Phase pricing page and FAQ explain.

Which period tracker app is most accurate?
No app can tell you your next period or ovulation day for certain, since only 12.4% of app users in a large study had a 28-day cycle and the NICHD says ovulation can happen 10 to 21 days after a period starts. Apps that add temperature, as Natural Cycles, drip and Apple Watch do, have more to work with. For hormones measured from urine, see the Hello Phase guide to the best hormone tracker apps.
Which period app is best for irregular periods?
On Android, Hello Phase widens its predicted date range when your cycles vary and lets you pause predictions after a change such as pregnancy, though it keeps predicted cycle lengths between 21 and 45 days. On iPhone, Apple Health can flag irregular cycles, infrequent or prolonged periods and persistent spotting, and Ovia supports irregular cycles for free if you accept an account.
Is a period tracker birth control?
Usually not, and Hello Phase is not a contraceptive. The exception is Natural Cycles, which the FDA allowed to be marketed as birth control in August 2018 with a failure rate of 1.8% with perfect use and 6.5% with typical use, as STAT News reported, and Clue received FDA clearance for a product called Clue Birth Control in February 2021. If you want to avoid pregnancy, talk with a clinician and use a method cleared for that purpose.
Are period tracker apps safe after Roe v. Wade?
It depends on where your data lives. Apps with an account usually sync your log to company servers, while Hello Phase, drip, Euki, My Cycle and Period Calendar Period Tracker work with no account, and Apple says that with two-factor authentication it cannot read Health data backed up to iCloud. We cannot tell you how any state's law applies to you after Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization overruled Roe v. Wade in June 2022.
Privacy labels are a starting point rather than proof. Stardust tells Google Play it shares no data, yet TechCrunch reported in July 2026 that Mozilla researchers found it sending health data to RudderStack, AppsFlyer and Facebook, and Mozilla's 2026 study, as Digital Health Insights reported, showed that a search for abortion providers in the in-app browser of Planned Parenthood's Spot On sent along the user's age and last period date. Our guide to the most private period tracker apps goes further.
Apps we left out and why
Period Tracker Period Calendar by ABISHKKING says data is "never uploaded or shared" while its Apple label lists data used to track you, and Clover's Data safety section lists data shared for advertising. We also left out Stardust after the Mozilla findings above, Premom over a proposed 2023 FTC order, Glow and its Eve app after Glow paid $250,000 in a 2020 California settlement over security weaknesses, and Femometer's Android app and Kindara's iOS app for going more than 18 months without an update.
How to choose
On Android, start with Hello Phase, or Period Calendar Period Tracker if ads don't bother you. On iPhone, use Apple Health or My Cycle, and pick Clue if you switch between phones. Our guides to free period tracker apps and Flo alternatives cover cost and switching.
Questions people ask
What is the best period tracker app in 2026?
Hello Phase is the best period tracker app on Android, free with no account, no ads, an estimated hormone chart and CSV and PDF export. On iPhone, Apple Health Cycle Tracking is the best built-in choice, Clue is the best app across iPhone and Android, and Natural Cycles is the pick for FDA-cleared birth control.

Do period tracker apps sell your data?

Which period tracker apps do not need an account?
Hello Phase, drip, Euki, My Cycle and Period Calendar Period Tracker work without an account, and Period Tracker by GP Apps only needs one if you want online backup. Clue, Natural Cycles and Ovia require an account.
